Does e-reputation sounds familiar to you ? If you have a website, you may have already heard about it. But do you know what it really means ?

First, let me be clear on the fact that everybody has an e-reputation, it’s not only about business companies. You, yes YOU, personally have an e-reputation since you are present on a social media, member of a forum or even if someone is talking about you, to share with others how great you are. Yes, it’s that simple ! If your name is somehow on the internet, then you have a e-reputation.

To be a bit more formal and boring, the e-reputation is your online identity and is composed with informations, discussions, rumors, feedbacks, opinions and every content about you in general.

The main challenge is that your e-reputation doesn’t belongs to you and then is hard to control. Sounds weird ? Actually it’s not. As I said previously, your reputation is not only made by what you’re posting but by all the content we can find about you.
So, if someone is holding a grudge against you and keep posting about it, your reputation may suffer of it.

However, don’t worry, if you can’t prevent people to send these messages without killing them (and don’t do this) there are still ways to settle online conflicts.
